Digital image manipulation is probably the most signifigant development in photographic technology since the invention of the first camera. It has turned ordinary photographers into wizards and sorcerers, able to cast spells and create impossible scenes from seemingly ordinary images.

The technique can be used to create composite images from a selection of posed and planned images, or to restore old and badly damaged images to their original glory. We can even use the technique to convert black and white images to convincing and realistic colour. The only limits on what can be accomplished are the limits of your own imagination.
